Corey A. Hill was a loving son, a devoted brother and an amazingly loyal friend. Corey had a huge heart and always took time out of his own life to make those around him feel special.

Corey was always a gentleman – a man of integrity and character whose kindness was only outweighed by his love for life and love for those around him.

Corey was an extremely passionate person. His love for sports was well known – especially amongst those closest to him. Whether it was New York Yankees baseball, Philadelphia Eagles football, Syracuse Orange athletics or his alma mater, Nottingham High School, Corey loved to root for his teams. Corey was also very involved in his work, as he spent 12 years at Sam’s Club, where he showed his leadership skills – and was awarded an Iron Man Award by the company for his efforts. He was a dedicated employee and Team Leader – and no matter how much was asked of him, Corey never complained.

Corey lived life to the fullest, enriching those around him in ways he will sadly never know. He was a son, brother, friend, companion, and protector. Corey will be greatly missed by the numerous people whose lives he touched during his 33 amazing years.

The Corey A. Hill Memorial Foundation is a nonprofit organization created by Corey’s friends and family. Discussions on the intent of this memorial foundation settled on a simple yet substantial and sustainable goal: to honor the memory of a fallen friend by giving back to the city he loved. Corey’s passion for family, community, athletics and friends was unwavering – and his infectious smile and incredible laugh will not soon be forgotten by those whom he loved.

The promise of this foundation is one of education and financial support. Our board of directors will use all proceeds to give back to the Syracuse and Central New York community first by establishing a scholarship in Corey’s name at Nottingham and East Syracuse Minoa High Schools and by helping organizations and individuals in the area meet their needs.

The scholarship recipients will be defined as individuals who strive for selflessness, academic distinction, and athletic excellence. They will be active in their communities and loyal friends to those around them. Corey gave his life to help and protect a friend; his family & friends are now devoting their lives to carrying on his legacy.
